The clear coat dried so I assembled one of the lower leg fenders today.
Attached the wheel shroud inside with another separator and riveted them in place.
Tail light and spoiler fin attached.
Rear window attached with protective film still on to prevent some scratches until day of event.
Riveted on the knee guard into place.
The entire fender looks great completely assembled.
Today I peeled the tape off the fenders covering the white and sprayed clear coat enamel on both lower leg fenders twice.
Might have to do a third because it looks a little blotchy when it dried.
Also started riveting the outer plates onto forearms.
Spray painted the forearms and added a second coat of black to lower leg fenders.
I still have more to complete on forearms by adding on the outer gloss plastic panels.
Think I will rivet the forearm panels on rather than glue and then get some black nail polish to touch-up exposed rivet heads.
Should have leg fenders done with clear coat enamel by Thursday and then will do a complete assemble by Friday.
I will try and do a video this weekend with what I have assembled and try everything on to see if any adjustments need to be done.
Last night I worked on mask for a few hours and spray painted the lower leg fenders black.
I found a pair of cheap sunglasses (ZZ Top) at dollar store with orange reflective lenses to use for eyes.
The lenses are made of tinted plastic so I was able to use the belt sander to grind down the edges to the desired shape.
So far just one coat of black on fenders.
Second coat and clear enamel coat by end of this week.
Possibly this weekend I could to a dress rehearsal with lower fenders and feet assembled.
Spray painted more parts and did a few clear enamel coats this weekend.
The list is getting shorter and some minor modifications are being adjusted.
Attached the two lower tires onto the lower leg mounts.
Drill press the holes into the steel rod and secured it with cotter pins.
Original plastic end caps cover the end axle cotter pins.
Also sprayed a final coat of dark grey on lower leg inner side panels, will do a protected clear coat tomorrow.
